Brief

The Māngere Bridge Waka Ama Club is center to a majority Polynesian community in South Auckland. How can bi-culturally informed architectural design of a significant community facility support the needs of the people and encourage their diverse cultures to thrive? All without compromising the integral functionality of the club spaces.

Design a Wharewaka for Portage Crossing Canoe club, beginning with research into wider social, historical and geographical context. The assignment follows the development of a concept reaching a resolution of architectural form through narrative design processes.
